About Kate Riley
Kate Riley is an author, teacher, and story consultant who lives in Hailey, Idaho. Her work has been published in numerous magazines and newsletters, and she co-authored The Green Velvet Journals with her mother, Vee Riley, also a writer and resident of Hailey.

Kate teaches writing camps for kids and young adults, as well as ongoing weekly writing groups for adults. After facilitating weekly groups in Boise for nearly a decade, she's packing up and taking her passion to the Wood River Valley where she is already organizing 2013 weekly writing groups. Kate is a driving force for writers of all ages, writing all genres; because, as she maintains...writers often need other writers.  "Besides, it's part of who I am and I'm excited about my new ventures!"  Kate has taught The Art of Writing Memoir for Community Ed through the  Boise School District as well as for the Boise Public Library!  Be sure to visit Kate's Inside Scoop! page for upcoming 2013 events!

In addition, Kate has presented at numerous writing conferences throughout California and Idaho and she has helped many writers complete books for publication. Kate works as a story consultant for clients across the United States. She serves as an administrator for the Colonnade 2012 Non-fiction Writing Contest for CJM Books, a publisher located in Rochester, NY. Kate is a Roster Member of the Idaho Writers Guild.

Kate began her storytelling career at age six during a live broadcast of "The Mayor Art Show" in San Francisco, CA. She doesn't remember how she ended up as a contestant but suspects her father, John D. Riley, had something to do with it. Later she attended Antioch University Santa Barbara and it was there she realized her passion for writing.  Life hasn't been the same since.

HAPPY WRITING IN 2013!!!

Cheers!
Kate
